You know the drill. Someone fills out a form. You call them. They’re interested but not ready. So you’re supposed to reach out next week. Then, if they don’t register, 10 days after that. Then maybe a month later.
I’m just not as good at that as I could be. Too many things happening. Too many hats.
But I’ve also kinda noticed: it doesn’t matter as much as I thought it would.
Because every week, those families are getting an email from me (and now Sylvia). Even if they don’t open it, they see K&E in their inbox. Week after week after week.
By the time I do follow up (whenever that happens to be, I swear I’m trying to get better), they already know me. They’ve been reading about camp. They’ve seen how we think about kids. We have things to talk about on the next call.
The newsletter raises the floor.
What this means for you
Some of you are incredible at follow-up. You send the Bonjoros, make the calls, track everything in your CRM like a machine.
I’m guessing many of you aren’t. Totally fine.
Because if you’re sending a newsletter consistently, you’ve built a system that does the follow-up work for you. Not perfectly. But definitely reliably.
Every week, in their inbox. Building trust. Staying present. Making the next conversation easier.
Some people think newsletters are just “content”. It’s more like they are coverage.
6 weeks. 3 newsletters. A system you can actually keep up with.
You’ll write with other camp pros who get it. You’ll get feedback from Doug and me, plus a 1-on-1 strategy session for even more topics, strategies, and ideas.
And you’ll walk away with something you can send the week you finish.
Registration closes January 19th.
If you join before then, you also get a free year of Write From Camp, our 3x/week Substack on the business of running camps. That’s $199 included.
“...a great reminder of the power of your words and expertise in sharing about Camp. And a great blueprint on how to get folks to read emails and engage.”
Oh, and check out this video too, which I recorded in my car on the way to follow up with a camp family!
